
Anyplace Control Software is introducing a new feature in Anyplace Control v. 4.9 to provide easier remote support assistance. The only thing the user is required to do is fill in a form on the Anyplace Control Software web site.

Criminals are taking advantage of a bug in the open-source Asterisk Internet telephony system to send out thousands of scam phone calls. The FBI has advised users to upgrade to the latest version of the software.

Research In Motion has released an update to its BlackBerry Desktop Manager, to fix an ActiveX vulnerability in the Roxio Media Manager. RIM said the flaw could be exploited if a user visits a malicious website that invokes the control. The company urged customers to upgrade to the latest patch for the BlackBerry Desktop Software version 4.5, 4.6 or 4.7.
