Adobe Reader X With Protected Mode Due in November

A number of recent malware attacks have used a flaw in Adobe’s Reader software. Reader X, which fixes the problem, is expected to be available in November.

Updates coming soon for B&N Nook and Nook for Android

The Nook, Barnes and Noble’s e-reader, will be getting an update. The update will go out to Nook 3G and Nook Wi-Fi will be updated in late November. The Nook for Android will be getting updated late this week.

Skype users can now call Facebook friends

Skype 5.0, available as a beta release, lets people access their Facebook ‘phonebook’ using VoIP. Skype is also offering a group-calling feature enabling 2 to 10 people to participate in a video call.
