Next generation of wireless

Wireless Knowledge, Inc. and Extended Systems announced plans to collaborate on next-generation wireless solutions, such as 3G (third-generation) technology. Under the terms of the agreement, Wireless Knowledge and Extended Systems will cross-license certain mobile application technologies to develop best-of-breed, next-generation software components. Ababall Grayscale released

Ababall, the arcade-style game from iambic, is now available in a grayscale version: Ababall Grayscale. Previously, Ababall was only available to those who had a color Palm OS device, but to answer the many requests of its customers, iambic has recreated the game to release a separate product that works on monochrome screens. Ababall Grayscale and Ababall Color will be sold separately.

Extra*Digit released

Pacific Microinstruments, Inc. announced the immediate release of the Extra*Digit User Interface Extension (UIe). The UIe enables the display of measurement and control systems on Palm OS handheld computers. The graphical user interface functions in the library allow for rapid development of software-based human-machine interfaces and virtual instruments on handheld computers, PDAs, and Web-enabled Palm OS cell phones. Typical applications include the development of the user interface for a modular handheld instrument and the development of wireless interfaces to industrial systems.

SyncML-compliant server

Pumatech, Inc. announced the successful demonstration of a SyncML-compliant server. Pumatech’s server compliance was officially confirmed by the SyncML Interoperability Committee following testing at the 2001 SyncFest in Tampere, Finland, June 27-29, 2001.
