IntelliGolf now supports GPS, Bluetooth

Karrier Communications announced its IntelliGolf version 7.0 golf scorecard software for Palm handhelds and Microsoft Windows Mobile-based Pocket PCs. Version 7.0 adds support for the satellite-based Global Positioning System (GPS), Bluetooth, WAAS/SBAS, more golf statistics, and sidegame enhancements. Palm handheld and Windows Mobile-based Pocket PC users will now be able to accurately view distances from tee-to-green using IntelliGolf’s embedded IntelliGPS technology.

SRS teams up with NEC

SRS Labs announced a new technology licensing agreement with NEC. This new agreement enables NEC to use SRS Labs’ SRS WOW and SRS Dialog Clarity technologies for NEC’s newest multimedia-enabled W-CDMA-based 3G mobile phone handsets.

The Support Network UK reseller of iVoice products

iVoice announced that it has appointed The Support Network UK as an Approved Reseller of it’s Speech Enabled products. The Support Network, a UK-based supplier of communications equipment and services, will focus on selling iVoice’s Speech Enabled Auto Attendant and iVoice’s Speech Enabled IVR into the SME and contact center market.

Meeting 2004 launches

Verizon responds to Treo 600 petition

Earlier this month, Bob Varipapa started a petition asking Verizon Wireless to carry the Treo 600. Bob did get a response from Verizon stating “We are currently working with Handspring and are considering adding the TREO 600 to our lineup. Before bringing any device to market, it must be integrated with the Verizon Wireless product suite and passed through rigorous network quality testing.”

Sony Ericsson P800

PC Magazine has this review of the Sony Ericsson P800, a PDA/Phone that uses Symbian OS. The Symbian synchronization software works with Lotus Notes and Microsoft Outlook files, and the email reader includes viewers for Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.

Visto announces MessageXpress

Visto Corporation announced support of the new Windows Mobile software for Smartphones. Visto’s solution, MessageXpress, will allow Windows Mobile-based Smartphone customers to access their corporate email from Lotus Notes or Microsoft Exchange, or POP3 Internet email including attachments.

Palm takes road show online

Palm, Inc. announced that it has posted on its Web site the road show presentation titled Defining Mobile Computing that it is taking to institutional investors in anticipation of a stockholder meeting set for Oct. 28. The presentation relates to palmOne, Inc., the company that is expected to succeed Palm, Inc., pending a successful stockholder vote.
