Or at least it should have.</p><p>On that date, in an open letter to the developer community, Dave Morin, then head of Facebook's platform efforts, announced the release of Facebook Connect: Facebook Connect is the next iteration of Facebook Platform that allows users to "connect" their Facebook identity, friends and privacy to any site.
