Brookline students do well in robotics competition

The Pixy Sticks are fourth- and fifth-grade students at the Heath School who were a top 12 finisher at the FIRST Lego Robotics qualifier competition in December, earning them a trip to the state championship. The qualifier was at Worcester PolyTech.

The FIRST Lego League is a robotics tournament open to children 9-14, and had 50 teams competing from throughout the area. The competition has teams designing their own robots to compete tasks. In addition to winning a trip to States, the Pixy Sticks won the core values trophy, which was awarded to one team which exemplified friendly competition and teamwork.
