<p>Multimedia and Communication deputy minister Datuk Jailani Johari said the computers were part of 12,000 units provided by the Malaysia Communication and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) to libraries since the government initiated a move to minimise the digital gap between rural and urban areas in 2010.</p><p>"We have distributed 1.5 million netbooks to those who are qualified since Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak launched the programme in March 2010," he said.</p><p>Jailani said the netbooks given to the libraries would allow the patrons to explore the borderless world via the internet.</p><p>"As 408 of the netbooks were given to village libraries across Terengganu, it will enhance the internet connectivity and bridge the digital gap between towns and rural areas," he said after presenting the netbooks to the libraries at the state library here yesterday.</p><p><a href="http://www.nst.com.my/latest/terengganu-libraries-get-876-netbook-computers-1.418030">Keep reading...</a></p>
