Black Friday comes but once a year, and this year it falls rather late on Nov. 29, creating the shortest number of holiday shopping days between Thanksgiving and Christmas. A number of industry trends are expected to help drive down Black Friday television prices.
Though worldwide and U.S. HDTV sales are down again this year, manufacturers have cut back production to prevent oversupply and associated price erosion. Though average selling prices may not be plummeting like they have in past years, there are some bright spots for deal hunters, such as in the 60-inch and larger screen sizes. This is where prices show the most movement. We anticipate hot deals on plasma and LED LCD HDTVs in this range.
