Fans at today’s New York Comic-Con got a look ahead at Seth Green’s Emmy-winning stop-motion animated comedy Robot Chicken. Keith Crofford, Vice President of Production for Adult Swim, moderated the panel.
Co-creators/executive producers Seth Green and Matthew Senreich were joined onstage by Clare Grant, Breckin Meyer and Macaulay Culkin to discuss the Adult Swim series and give fans a sneak peek at their next Robot Chicken DC Comics Special, which airs April 2014.
Robot Chicken DC Comics Special II: Villains in Paradise will feature the voice cast of Alfred Molina as Lex Luthor, Clancy Brown as Gorilla Grodd, Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern, Zac Efron as Superboy, Clare Grant as Poison Ivy, and Modern Family’s Sarah Hyland as Lex’s teenage daughter Lena Luthor.
Green showed an animatic of one of the scenes from Villains in Paradise. This one had Batman objecting to the “emasculating” effect of Green Lantern encapsulating him inside a lime green bubble so they can fly. When Batman requests Green Lantern make the shape more vehicular, Green Lantern makes it a big green sailboat and they proceed to fly through the air to a dopey, folksy song as Batman smiles like a dumb kid. The silly sight is enough to even make the heroes and villains on the ground stop brawling and look up.
