Cox Cable made changes to the local HDTV channel frequencies at midnight that will affect cable viewers without a cable box.

Cable viewers without a cable box will have to do a rescan to get the local channels on their HDTV starting Wednesday morning. Cox will be finished with the changes around 4 a.m.

Many subscribers have several television sets in their homes with only one on a cable box and the rest attached directly to cable. They will lose all of the local channels and need to rescan to get them back.
