<p>Sony has announced that its first curved-screen LED-based LCD television, the 65-inch KDL-65S990A, will be available in October at Sony Stores and select electronics retailers nationwide at the price of $4,000.</p><p>The TV is based on the latest generation of Sony's Triluminos LED-backlit LCD panel and features a curved screen engineered to provide a greater sense of depth of field and allow for a wider viewing angle, according to the company.</p><p>Image processing is handled by Sony's proprietary X-Reality PRO picture engine, Reality Creation database, and Super Resolution processor, which work together to optimize the color, detail, contrast, and sharpness of 2D and 3D images.</p><p>On the audio side, the TV draws on proprietary S-Force Front Surround signal processing and eight precisely angled speakers (six front, two surround) to deliver a surround-sound experience.
