Etch, a new data visualisation company, gathers your Foursquare check-in data to produce personalized maps of your social activity. It was founded in 2013 by coder Jeremy Weikel and designer Michael Yap who graduated from SVA. Currently, the maps are only of Foursquare users in San Francisco, Manhattan and Portland.

Weikel, commenting on the usage of social data in Etch's maps, says,

We're trying to find ways to unlock the value of the invisible inventory of data that we ourselves are tracking or that is being collected about us.

The maps are beautifully put together by gathered and harvested Foursquare data and would be a great present for Foursquare fanatics. The maps can be easily put together in a simple 4 step process which involves logging into your Foursquare, choosing your city, applying colors and Placemarkers.
