CLIFTON - Burglars did not only steal valuable jewelry worth about $20,000 from an East Seventh Street family, they also took their peace of mind.

The family is offering a reward to get the jewelry back, and are slowly trying to get back their peace of mind too. The passing of time will help as well as the state-of-the-art security system installed soon after the May 10 break-in.

Weeks after the burglary, Nermin, (last name withheld) who shares the East Seventh Street home with her husband Chris and two children ages 12 and 2, is still recovering from the shock of coming home to an open door, window and ransacked bedrooms.

When Nermin first walked into her home on the afternoon of May 10, she said she found an open window and an open back door and thought her husband had already come home from work. She called out to him and when he didn't answer she called him on his phone and learned he had not been home and he had not left the door or window open.
