There are a lot of facets of the Internet that are often overlooked by the general public and I’m not talking about Bing or Google+. For example, there’s a whole series of under 10-second YouTube videos (uploaded by multiple users) featuring Ol’ Blue Eyes, rock stars, and various rap figureheads singing/whispering/shouting some of their favorite phrases. Okay, so what? Well, as it turns out they’re perfect for navigating those pesky Facebook conversations with lame acquaintances and/or good friends; the kinds of conversations where you want to seem funny/lighthearted/not totally asshole-ish. The kinds of conversations you’ll find after the jump.
Now that Facebook doesn’t allow you to “screen” chats, you have to think of more creative ways to tell the random homies hitting you up that you only came online for a second and really can’t talk. Imagine it’s one of those days where the shit completely hits the fan and you’re like “sorry gtg,” but feel kind of bad for blowing off your freshman-year roommate who you haven’t talked to in 18 months. When they’re like, “Omg I miss you,” just rely on Ice Cube, because that’s “LIFE.”
This clip is great on so many levels. Do you hear the crickets in the background? The twinkling? It’s like Lil B is whispering sweet nothings in your ear at twilight on one of those perfect summer evenings where it’s warm, but you still feel the need to wear a light sweater. It’s so, pleasant. Whenever you agree with somethingwhether it’s plans for the weekend or your friend’s updated relationship statusLil B’s “Yessss,” is like saying you couldn’t agree more.
2 Chainz saying “True,” is a lot like Lil B saying “Yes.” Both are affirmative and held longer than they need to be, but there’s something subtle that sets them apart. Sure, “True” can be used when you agree with something you read online, but it sassier than “Yes.” It works best in situations where you think, “Mhhhmmm, yeah that’s right,” when you see someone you secretly love trolling someone you don’t care for on Facebook.
