BUBBLY UK MOBILE OPERATOR O2 announced on Monday that it has joined forces with Virgin Media to bring its customers free WiFi on the London Underground.
O2 joins EE, Vodafone and of course Virgin Media to offer its customers access to the free WiFi enabled at some London Underground stations. To get access to the service, users will simply need to register their details in the web browser when connected to “Virgin Media WiFi” at one of the 100+ stations connected to the internet.
While this announcement is excellent news for O2 customers, it’s not great news for those on Three, which is now the only mobile operator in the UK not to offer its customers free WiFi on the London Underground.
However, if Three customers are really concerned about not being able to check Twitter while underground, they can sign up to Virgin Media’s pay as you go scheme. The broadband network charges 2 for one day of WiFi access, 5 for a week or 15 for a monthly Virgin Media WiFi Pass.
