SEOUL, April 3 (Yonhap) — South Korean handset maker LG Electronics Inc. said Wednesday it plans to release the “Lucid 2,” its long-term evolution (LTE) smartphone in the United States later this week.
LG Electronics is scheduled to roll out the mid- to low-range LTE smartphone via U.S. mobile carrier Verizon Wireless on Thursday, according to the company.
The smartphone is a follow-up to the “Lucid” smartphone that was also released through Verizon Wireless in March last year.
The Lucid 2 features a 4.3-inch display and runs on the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean platform. The smartphone comes with a 2,470 milliampere battery that can be wirelessly charged, according to LG Electronics.
