
ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – A group of Albuquerque Middle School students are participating in a competition that no other school in the state has qualified for. The robotics team at Mountain Mahogany Community school is heading to the vex world championships robotics competition. The team is made up of 16 students all 6th through 8th graders. This is a great honor for them especially because one- third of the students qualify for special education.
“It’s amazing I can’t believe we did it. The only school in the state going to the championship…it’s a real honorI’m amazed,” Elijah Chavez archer said.
“There will be almost 200 middle school teams that will be there 35 at least 35 of those teams will be from china three will be other teams from all over the world,” Amy Chase with Mountain Mahogany Community School said. The world championships are in Anaheim California next month.
