It’s well-known that Miami Dolphins offensive guard Richie Incognito is not the most restrained individual in the universe. Since he was selected in the third round of the 2005 NFL Draft by the St. Louis Rams, and even before then when he played for Nebraska and Oregon in college, Incognito has been known to fly off the handle on and off the field, acting like a knucklehead at the best of times.
One could say that he’s just an emotional guy, and that certainly seemed to be the case when Incognito started to realize that his teammate, longtime franchise left tackle Jake Long, might well leave the team in free agency. Long has been in St. Louis, taking what would appear to the longest physical in NFL history, but Incognito hasn’t given up on his buddy.
On Friday, he started going nuts on Twitter, trying to rally Dolphins fans across the Twittersphere. What can we say? Offensive linemen have a unique connection.
Well, we could have done without that last one, but who knows? Maybe Incognito’s campaign will touch all involved enough to indeed #bringjakehome.
