“Team Say Watt?” a group of students from several Middlesex County high schools, took their robot to Moscow last month where they represented the United States in the 5th Russian National Robotics Festival called Robofest.
The group took home one of the festival’s most prestigious honors and will now take their robot to the world championship in St. Louis next month.
“It was the first time we’ve gone outside the United States to compete, although we’ve competed against international teams here,” said Chris Vincent, 17, of Milltown, one of the team members.
The two-day event was held Feb. 8 and 9, with more than 400 school and university teams showcasing their creations, said Stella Carr, whose husband, Jim, coaches the team. Team Say Watt? competed against teams from Russia, Romania, Mexico and Siberia.
