UK carrier Vodafone is advising customers who own iPhones not to upgrade to the latest iOS 6.1 update.
In a message on the company’s support forum, it claims that the new update has a bug which means that “customers may occasionally experience difficulty in connecting to the network to make or receive calls or texts or to connect to the Internet.”
The posting says that the issue only affects iPhone 4S handsets. It also claims that Apple is investigating the problem.
It also appears that the carrier has been sending text messages to customers warning them not to upgrade. Twitter user Michelle Muirhead posted a text message Vodafone had sent her advising against downloading the latest iOS update.
