BROADBAND PROVIDER Virgin Media will start charging for London Underground WiFi next week, the firm announced on Friday.
Virgin Media announced the news in a tweet, which said, “All change! Next Tuesday our WiFi on the Underground service is changing. To make things easy – we’ve sent you an email.”
We contacted Virgin Media for further details, and it told us that the service will be paid-for from Tuesday 29 January.
The good news is that not all Londoners will have to pay to access the service, as Virgin Media is extending the free WiFi scheme for EE, Orange, T-Mobile, Vodafone and its own customers.
