People who make use of Apple’s new iOS 6 feature called Do Not Disturb got a surprise on the morning of January 1st when the feature failed to switch off as scheduled because of a bug in the operating system.
This is a real annoyance because it means that your phone remains silent and dark, since the screen doesn’t light up when text messages or phone calls come in. Since a lot of people use their iPhone for texts and calls, this sort of thing can be annoying.
Apple’s response to the problem is interesting. Rather than issue a patch, the company has posted a support document that describes the problem and tells people when they can next use the Do Not Disturb features.
Do Not Disturb scheduling feature will resume normal functionality after January 7, 2013. Before this date, you should manually turn the Do Not Disturb feature on or off.
