Best Buy has been counting down the days to Thanksgiving all week with special deals that are likely just as good as anything that is coming up on Black Friday. Today’s final deal, however, is merely okay depending on whether customers took advantage of earlier prices. While Best Buy is offering discount shoppers a chance to order a laptop for less than $230, it’s only a few dollars cheaper than what they had been selling it for in previous weeks.
For just the remaining hours of today, the electronics retailers is selling an Acer Aspire One 11.6″ netbook for $229.99. It’s still a good deal for shoppers looking for a discount netbook. But Best Buy had been selling it for $249.99 in previous weeks. Perhaps the price will be going up after Black Friday when the model becomes more widely available.
This particular Acer isn’t available in other brick-and-mortar stores yet. And when Amazon begins selling it on November 26, it will be at the suggested retail price of $329.99, which appears to be how everyone else will sell it as well. So shoppers are looking at a $100 value when they purchase it at Best Buy today. (Or just $20 when comparing it to earlier prices.)
This Acer model comes with 2GB of memory and a 320GB hard drive. Some of the other features of the product include an Intel Celeron processor 877, a LED-backlit high-definition widescreen display, Intel HD graphics, built-in HD webcam with microphone, and three high-speed USB 2.0 ports. It also comes with a one-year parts and labor warranty. The Acer website also suggests hooking up the Netbook to a television with an HDMI cable for a bigger picture experience.
