We're willing to keep playing while negotiating. We gave up a lot in 2004-05; why should we do give back again? We're willing to help the struggling teams but don't want to make the rich teams richer.</p><p>But in the public eye, as with lockouts in other sports, the battle is perceived as billionaires vs. millionaires.</p><p>Even Detroit Red Wings senior vice president Jim Devellano, in his interview in which he called players, himself and other employees cattle, said, "Yes, they are billionaires.
