Thunderbolt Controller More Expensive than USB 3.0

Intel and AMD are getting ready to include the SuperSpeed USB 3.0 spec in their chips. USB 3.0 costs about $1 per device. Thunderbolt currently costs board manufacturers about $10 per device, pricing it out of some markets.
