Lexar increases SDHC capacity

Lexar announced that it has increased the capacity of its entire SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) family of memory cards to 8GB. The new cards from the Professional, Platinum II, and standard lines will be available later this month, and are designed to provide professionals and consumers with the ultimate in functionality and performance for their digital SLRs, point-and-shoot cameras, PDAs, and mobile phones, among other devices.

The Professional 8GB cards are speed-rated at 133x, delivering a minimum sustained write speed of 20MB per second. The Professional SDHC cards are ideal for use in high-definition camcorders and point-and-shoots with motion capture capabilities. These cards include free, dedicated technical support, a limited lifetime warranty, and software available for free download, including Lexar Image Rescue 3 and Corel Paint Shop Pro X.
