Palm has appointed Roy Bedlow as vice president, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Bedlow is based at Palm’s EMEA headquarters in Wokingham, UK, and reports to John Hartnett, senior vice president of worldwide sales and customer relations. Palm is aligning its European infrastructure to maximize the market potential for Treo smartphones. The company recently opened a European R&D Centre in Dublin to facilitate the delivery of smartphones tailored to the EMEA market. The European R&D centre is focused on deployment of leading-edge technologies, such as 3G/UMTS, delivered on Palm’s chosen platforms.
