Man, we so hate it when we get it right! Although we were fans of the Tapwave Zodiac product, our analysis was that some major changes would have to be made or the company was going to go the way of the Pets.com sock puppet. Sadly, Tapwave bit the big one this week. The following notice was on their Web site: “We are sorry to inform you that the Zodiac business was discontinued and service and support are no longer available as of July 25th 2005.” We don’t yet know if the term “Zodiac” business means the company’s kaput, or just that they’re no longer supporting the product and reorganizing with a plan to sell pet food and kitty litter by mail, with free overnight shipping. Frankly, we’re a bit bothered by the wording. If the company remains in business, support for the products they’ve sold at a premium to consumers should as well.
