Several PDA developers are banding together due to what they see as unreasonable rate hikes by the companies behind PalmGear, PocketGear, Smartphone.net and other ESD (Electronic Sales Distributors) sites. It’s claimed that these sites have a virtual monopoly on handheld software distribution and have used this monopoly to unfairly raise the rates they charge developers, thereby decreasing the actual revenue a developer receives from shareware/commercial sales of their products.
