Airplane-mode standards

The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) announced a project to create a standard method or symbol for indicating “airplane mode” on wireless devices. It is hoped that the new standard, expected to be finalized and released this fall, will encourage airlines to change their policies to allow use of such devices during flight.
