
Some 900 Texas schools are using a handheld-to-web version of the state-recommended Texas Primary Reading Inventory, an assessment tool used by classroom teachers to obtain an accurate picture of the reading development of students in kindergarten through second grade. The handheld version, mCLASS:TPRI, was developed by Wireless Generation in collaboration with the Texas Education Agency; the University of Texas Center for Academic and Reading Skills; and the Texas Institute for Measurement, Evaluation and Statistics.
