Apple Computer has halted iPod shipments to France for the next 15 days on account of a French law that prohibits noise levels above 100 decibels. Apple says the problem is fixable with a simple software update. Resellers may exchange their inventory for the new version, and customer updates will be available from Apple’s French web site in early October.
