IBM and Palm speed data delivery

Server World Magazine has an article on how major league baseball scouts are using laptops and Palm handhelds to record prospect information electronically and quickly deliver this information to the front office. They then use IBM PROS, based on IBM’s Lotus Notes software, to send and receive scouting and game reports. According to the article, “Data captured by scouts can be integrated with information from third-party organizations, such as the MLB Scouting Bureau. PROS captures, organizes, and assists with reporting of data, reducing the amount of time it takes information to travel from a scout to the front office.”
