Motorola, Nokia scrap smartphone plans

The Register reports that Palm has confirmed that planned smartphones from Nokia and Motorola will not appear. According to the Register, Motorola planned to release a tri-band GSM smartphone by early next year. Palm’s collaboration with Nokia would have seen the Palm UI running on Symbian’s core OS.
