The nice folks at Card Access recently gave us some insight into their Springboard modem modules. Their Thinmodem Plus module contains both a modem as well as 8MB of Flash RAM, is flash upgradeable (meaning that if new features are added to the modem, it can be upgraded), and, of course, no batteries are required. Interestingly, the company is also coming out with an Audible book-on-module player in May.
