ZDNet reports that Microsoft has formed partnerships with Simon & Schuster and Barnes & Noble. Microsoft said that under the agreement 15 popular titles based on the “Star Trek” television series would be available free for immediate download for users of Microsoft’s electronic Reader on the Pocket PC. Microsoft also said that it had entered an agreement with Random House to make Michael Crichton’s “Timeline” available online.
