Jornada less colorful than advertised

The folks at HP have acknowledged that the HP Jornada 540 series Pocket PC handheld device offers a roughly 4,000-color display, rather than the 65,000 colors the company advertised. News.com reports that this happened because a 16-bit component was inadvertently replaced with a 12-bit component.
