Why Symbaian?

Earlier this week, Sony announced that it would <A HREF="http://www.zdnet.com/zdnn/stories/news/0,4586,2556547,00.html">chose Symbian</A> as its software partner for a wireless phone over Microsoft and Palm. This article from ZDNet explains that the reson is because Symbian offered a ready-made product that would help Sony ship millions of units per week.
