Intel announced it will start making chips with more advanced production techniques in 2002. According to <A HREF="http://www.news.com/News/Item/0,4,37585,00.html">News.com</A>, smaller, faster chips will be needed in devices such as handhelds, TV set-top boxes, and low-cost PCs.
