Sports on the Go

PALMPOWER SITE OF THE MONTH

By Heather McDaniel

If you're one of those baseball fans that needs to know every baseball statistic possible, May's PalmPower Site of the Month could be your dream come true.

Sports on the Go, which is run by Info Lighthouse Corporation, provides Web content directly to your Palm device. Using AvantGo technology, you can pick and choose what statistics you want to download to your device

This feature could come in very handy if you're in a fantasy baseball league. For instance, let's say you have Bernie Williams of the New York Yankees, Sammy Sosa of the Chicago Cubs, and J.D. Drew of the St. Louis Cardinals on your fantasy team. With Sports on the Go, you can get the statistics on each individual player without downloading the stats of the entire team. Being selective can save you a lot of space on your device.

Right now, the service focuses on baseball and provides Major League Baseball content such as this season's schedules, fantasy baseball tips, individual statistics, team statistics, team news, injury reports, transactions. You can also download last year's statistics of players and teams.

As you can see in Figure A, individual statistics, team statistics, team news, injury reports, and transactions are updated on a daily basis.

If you don't care about the injury report, you don't have to download it. (click for larger image)

Info Lighthouse President Todd Moyer said that Sports on the Go plans to add statistics for other sports in the coming months. These will include professional football, basketball, hockey, and even golf.

Very sporty. Check it out at http://www.sportsonthego.com.
