Thanks to reader Ray Fischer, who sent this into Jason Perlow: IBM to release mini-MQ: IBM today is expected to announce MQSeries Everywhere, a minimized version of its messaging middleware product aimed at mobile and embedded devices. IBM is also expected to announce that PDA maker Psion Enterprise Computing will be the first to implement the product. Psion will also be among the first PDA vendors to use IBM’s new 340-MB microdrive hard disk drive. Betas for the 3Com PalmOS and Microsoft Win CE, as well as extensions for Java, will be released in the third quarter. The only disappointment: at first, we thought IBM was talking about Mini-me. Too bad, we figure Dr. Evil would enjoy a teeny computer.
