Exactly one week from today, the Stockbridge High School Underwater Robotics Team will leave Mid-Michigan for their third trip to Palau. We’ve been following the robotics team since its first mission to the South Pacific island in 2012.
Not only are the students excited, but the robotics team is a point of pride for both the high school and the local community. The team’s Go Fund Me account had a donation goal of $20,000. The community has donated nearly all of that.
From a new robot built from scratch: “We shrinked the frame down a little to give it a little more power to move through the water easier,” said Jeremy Spink, a Junior.
To local and national sponsors: “Go Pro is sending a film crew to go with us this year, to help provide technical assistance to the students using the Go Pro cameras,” said Robert Richards, Robotics Teacher.
