The network is the computer, 2016 style

Longtime FoZ (Friend of ZATZ) Jason Perlow has an <A HREF="http://blogs.zdnet.com/perlow/?p=9188">interesting take</A> on virtualized computing, circa 2016. His scenario is one of the better ones, because it feels quite authentic and mirrors a lot of what we've been thinking about here in semi-virtualized ZATZland.

After the recent spate of Florida fires and the beginning of hurricane season, we're working as fast as we can to put as much of our day-to-day critical desktop work into the cloud, so if we have to hit the road fast, it'll all be there. Of course, the network operations and ZATZ sites are already in the cloud at our co-lo provider, but it's time to think about the same things for the desktop.
